Labor Day Weekend Weddings

Just a word to the wise, three of the busiest wedding weekends are Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. If you are planning a wedding on any of those three day weekends, book early. Once again, book all of your vendors early! My favorite Denver florist, yes I have favs too, was so busy with weddings, that they designed one of their weddings at the the flower market and rented space in their enormous cooler. My Labor day was slammin'. Here is a sneak peak of Sarah and Jason's wedding at the Millenium Harvest House Boulder. Loved here hair piece with the chic netting.

Real Weddings Tammy & Matt

Yesterday's wedding took place at Boulder's Red Lion Restaurant, located just a short drive up the Boulder canyon. The bride chose a soft palette of ivory and green roses, white ranunculus and white tulips, with a modern wrap of aspidistra leaves. Shamane of Shamane's Bake Shoppe created the gorgeous cake with a cascade of flowers and fruit. Summer wedding ceremonies at the Red Lion, take place alongside the bubbling Boulder Creek. Brides have the option of renting the beautiful aspen arch from The Red Lion, and I have the pleasure of decorating it. Congratulations Tammy and Matt!

It's snowing, huge flakes, thinking spring..

Seriously? More snow here in Boulder. Ugh! Yes, as I write, it is snowing huge, fluffy flakes. Hard to think summer with conditions such as this! So I perused through wedding flower pics from last year. I came upon this yummy mix of roses and helebores. Soft, romantic. My dream bouquet. Well, it was my wedding bouquet and it was dreamy!

When the Florist is Wed

So we tied the knot on 9-9-09! It was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I envisioned an informal, backyard wedding. No fuss. No stress. The minister, our children and just a hand-full of close friends were present. No suitcoat, no tie, nothing stuffy. I wore a silk dress with a lovely watercolor type print of butterflies and flowers. I hand-selected the flowers for my bouquet the day before. No fuss, no stress. I attached a blue butterfly for whimsy, as well as to cover the something blue part. Next weekend is our reception. Our hearts are full. What a gift to be married and madly in love.
