a party for a princess, a lucky one at that.

oh my, i have been so busy designing for this weekend's princess party. it was honestly a party fit for a king, complete with a castle, suits of armor, glass slippers, and an abundance of tiaras. (if i had the guts to take on a tattoo, it would be a tiara, a grand one at that.) it was lovely fun. my favorite wedding and event planner, nicole mulvany from rsvp shindig called me up on this one. when nicole calls, expect grand.

the house was bedecked inside and out. uplit outside with pink lights. never too much pink. i decorated the front door with floral tiaras, the tables with 6" squares of heavenly eufloria roses, cabbage, hydrangea and lisianthus, topped off with what else, tiaras. i even decorated the glass slippers with flowers. yum.

dave barnes from scenographics denver created the incredible fairytale castle, royal pendants, and the suits of armour complete with pink plumage.

food was provided by the fabulous whirled peas catering co. they also sculpted a castle made from bread, baquettes and waffle cones. (which the family dog guarded with her life.)

it truly was a masterpiece of a party.

Merry Christmas from The Painted Primrose

Christmas at The Painted Primrose starts the moment the last Thanksgiving plate makes its way into the dishwasher. For four weeks we have been delivering, literally over the river and through the woods, beautiful bouquets of holiday greens, pine cones and roses from Flagstaff Mountain to the plains of Firestone and Frederick. I love every minute of it. I also love anything and everything to do with candy canes. You will often find one tucked into one of my holiday floral arrangements. Perhaps it reminds me of my childhood visits with Santa at Marshal Fields. One in which I always walked away with a mini cane tucked into my pocket. My work at the studio is finished and now its time for my family. Time to bake cookies, light balsam scented candles and watch favorite holiday movies. Time for peace. And time for love. Much love to all of you.

Boulder Florists

Today I delivered oodles of flowers to a local Country Club for a fundraiser event. The colorful centerpieces were adorned with wire art created by very artistic kids from a local elementary school. Their challenge was to create a continuous line wire sculpture in the mode of Picasso. I love it!

My challenge was to create a very colorful palette to house these sculptures. As always, I used Eufloria rose.

Pink Roses www.paintedprimrose.com

I am so in love with this variety of soft, pale pink rose "sweet avalanche." I think they would be perfect for a shabby chic wedding. I stumbled upon them at the denver market yesterday. They open beautifully. They have a slight fragrance, little bruising, large head and not many thorns. This week's fave!

Prettiest Roses on the Planet at Eufloria Flowers!

Click on the above title to view a great video that explains how roses are grown at Eufloria roses in California, the Prettiest Roses on the Planet. I always use Eufloria roses in my weddings. They perform amazingly well and open so beautifully. Brides these days are looking for ways to "green" their wedding, the video will show you how Eufloria does it's part. The roses never leave water, even when transported, like other roses which are shipped dry in boxes on airplanes. How thirsty they must be!

Ask your florist to design your wedding flowers with Eufloria rose, you will love it. View their website to see rose colors and varieties.

Scented Candles

If you love roses as much as I do, you will be inspired by this gorgeous shop Au Nom de la Rose located in England and throughout Europe. I especially love the rose-themed gifts. I would love one of these candles to burn in my floral studio! The shop opened its first rose emporium in Paris in 1991. Romantic! To view their website please copy www.aunomdelarose.co.uk into your url bar. As it cannot translate correctly from my blog.

Boulder Florist

I just received photographs from a lovely wedding I designed this past summer. How lucky to be married during peony season! The combination of peonies with tulips, Eufloria roses, mini calla lilys and ranunculus were breathtaking. The Bride chose a fabulous vintage style ribbon to adorn the bouquets and the Bridesmaid's dresses were chocolate brown.

Eufloria Roses

I shopped in Denver today at Michael's Wholesale Flowers. They carry Eufloria roses from California. They are the most beautiful roses in the world! They can last longer than 2 weeks. Some of the varieties smell so amazing. Pure heaven! When they are cut in California, they are transported in water, unlike some roses which are shipped dry. My very favorite roses to put into a wedding bouquet, Eufloria roses! And the best part, grown right here in America. www.eufloriaflowers.com
